This CPU Contact Frame optimizes pressure distribution and enables improved cooling performance of CPU coolers, which is crucial for maintaining system stability and longevity. The Intel 13th / 14th Gen CPU Contact Frame seamlessly replaces the original Integrated Loading Mechanism (ILM) of the motherboard, providing a more efficient cooling solution for your CPU.
Issues with the ILM
The standard Integrated Loading Mechanism (ILM) has contact points located in the middle of the elongated CPU. Due to the resulting uneven contact pressure of the processor in the socket, the surface of the Integrated Heatspreader (IHS) curves concavely. As a result, the base plate of the CPU cooler primarily rests on the edges of the IHS, which means that the thermal "hotspot" in the center of the CPU is not optimally covered.
Thermal Grizzly's Solution
The Thermal Grizzly CPU Contact Frame features a special inner contour designed to shift the contact pressure during installation from the center of the CPU towards the edges. This helps to avoid the concave curvature of the IHS. Consequently, the CPU cooler makes better contact with the processor, creating a larger contact area to efficiently dissipate the CPU's heat.
Easy Installation
The installation of the Contact Frame is straightforward and requires only a few steps. Depending on the CPU cooler used and the CPU model, processor temperatures can be noticeably reduced.
